Due to the freezing temperatures throughout the Houston area, Alief ISD will remain closed on Tuesday, January 16th, and reopen on Wednesday, January 17th, with a two-hour delayed start time. Transportation will follow the two-hour delay as well. For example, if your child’s bus normally arrives at 6:15 a.m., the bus will arrive at 8:15 a.m. There will be no early release for secondary campuses (middle and high school) on Wednesday.
The Alief YMCA on Howell-Sugarland Road will have a warming center for those in need. The tentative hours will be Monday 8 p.m. – Tuesday 8 a.m. and Tuesday 8 p.m. to Wednesday 8 a.m.
